Interesting how it starts out, when you walk through a storm. It is always good to have a Big Friend by Your side

Hardly ever do I think about my age.  Hardly ever do I think about how life has gone by.  But for some reason today I thought about it.  Maybe it is the wind blowing outside my windows, the hurricane at my door, that gave me pause to think.  It has occurred to me today, if I take the sum total of everything in my life, the joys do outweigh the sorrows. I guess that is because through wisdom of age, there is no reason to keep in my heart that which no longer brings joy.  It feels good to empty my heart of all that does not matter. Hear O Lord

Here O Lord and answer me for I am in need. Guard my life, my soul, for I am devoted to You. You are my God and I trust in you. Have mercy on me Lord, for I pray to you only. Bring joy to my soul, health to my body, for to You I lift up my soul. Here and listen to my prayers.  In these days of my trouble I will pray to You. For I know you will answer me. There is none like you O Lord, nothing I seek more then You. I come, pray, and worship before You. For You are great and do maravelous deeds and miracle.  You alone are God. Teach me Your way: O Lord, let me walk in Your truth. Give me an undivided heart. Never let me be so distressed that I should forge Your name. Let me praise You with all my heart. For great is Your love toward me. Deliver me now from the depths of my trouble.  O Lord, You are a compassionate and gracious God. Abounding in love and faithfulness. Keep me always faithful to You no matter what may befall me. Turn to me, have mercy on me, grant me Your strength. Teach me to number my days a right so that I may gain a heart of wisdom. Give me a sign of Your goodness today please. O Lord, help me and comfort me for to Your I pray every day of my soul's life here on earth. I do believe I will have what I ask for according to your wisdom and by the promises of your word.  Amen.

A Storm is a Coming

A storm called Sandy is heading to the East Coast and should hit by Sunday.  How do we prepare, well, water, batteries, can foods, pet food, rushing to buy all the things we think will keep us safe and secure.  Which we all should practice those things, of course.  But, every day there is someone who is going through a storm in their life.  Someone who is on bended knee asking God to save their child, help with finances, cure an illness, bring love back into their life.  Every day we face a challenge, a storm, a sorrow. For me before I race to the store, I race to get down on my knees and ask the Lord above to keep us in His care, to watch over each and everyone of us, daily, not just when the storms of life hit, or the physical storms of hurricanes, but each moment,  with each breath, with each heartbeat.  It is only by the Grace and Love of God will we be able to weather any storm.  God Bless, be safe.  Sincerely yours,

THE FUTURE IN NEW

Forget the former things: do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a NEW thing. I am making a new way. I am the Lord, your Creator.  Isaiah 43.

Yes, it is really time to stop lingering in the past of old hurts, sorrows, rejection, etc. Time to let the Lord make all things NEW again. Someone once said, "stop looking for me in the past, you won't find me there." It is high time I can  now say the same.

Do not let discouragement be in control of your life today.  Look to what you have left in your life, not at what was lost.  Rebuild from a new foundation of God's strength and His love for you.  Yes, You!  Discouragement does not have to stay long in your life. Look up to God in Heaven with prayers of thanksgiving for what we still have. Don't look back at what has been.  Discouragement can have its say, but God has a greater and stronger voice during our times of troubles.  God will support us as we move forward and away from a discouraged heart.  "For God knows the plans He has for us, plans to help us, not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future."  Today look ahead and plan with God your next steps. WHERE OR WHEN DOES IT MATTER NOW

Who was it that I was meant to be?  What was I suppose to do here? Why did it all come out this way?  Where was I meant to go? Who was I meant to meet along the path of life?  Was it I that made a wrong turn or perhaps the right turn?  How did I wind up here? Did I not listen correctly? Did I miss a sign along the journey?  Life ...Love ... all lost now for the sake of who, what, where, when?  Funny, I no longer remember any of that, as I just sit here thinking, wondering, dreaming of what was.
